It’s only a matter of time before you get tired of all those bread recipes and want real food. Cooking and recipe testing is great and all, but you deserve a break. I’ve compiled a list of my top restaurants in Corktown Detroit that are open for all your carryout and delivery needs during quarantine. Since things seem to be changing daily, please check the restaurants website and social media for the latest info. Michigan & Trumbull
Neighborhood newbie, Michigan & Trumbull is open for delivery and curbside pickup. Gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options available. Pickup one of my favorite best sellers, the Woodward White with lemon zest and ricotta or get a little creative and opt for the build your own pizza. Don’t forget to add a bottle of the Hot Honey (featured on the Packard Pepperoni), Cilantro Ranch, beer or wine to your order. Open Wednesday-Saturday, 11:30AM-9PM, Sunday 3-9PM.
Mudgie’s Deli & Wine Shop
Our favorite neighborhood sandwich shop is open and offering grocery, beer, wine, and deli menu items for curbside pickup. Grocery orders can be placed for next day pickup between 12-5PM. Deli, beer, and wine orders can be placed for same day pickup 11:30AM-4PM, pickup until 5PM. Place orders online or by phone.
Takoi
Takoi and Magnet are offering pickup at their Curbside Market located at Magnet in Detroit’s Core City. Ramen kits, roasted vegetable salad, and Takoi’s famous coconut milk ice cream are a just a few of the menu items. You can also take home wine, beer, cider, and coffee courtesy of Astro Coffee. The Curbside Market is open Thursday-Saturday 3-7PM. Pickup at 4884 Grand River Ave in the parking lot/alley between Magnet and Ochre Bakery. Place orders online.
Grandma Bob’s
Grandma Bob’s is open for contact-free curbside pickup and delivery. Grandma Bob’s is offering Deep Dish pies only and vegetarian/vegan options are available. Choose from unique pies like the Vegan Big Mac or Vegan Sausage and Pistachio. Don’t forget to pick up some beer to go with your za! Grandma Bob’s is open Thurs-Sun 3PM-8PM.
Brooklyn Street Local
Brooklyn Street Local is offering their weekly menu for carryout. Choose from breakfast favorites like Banana Walnut Pancakes and omelettes, lunch options like sandwiches, salads, poutine, coffee, tea, espresso, and baked goodies. Vegan and vegetarian options as well. Carryout available Wed-Fri 11AM-5pm and Saturday and Sunday 10AM-4PM.
Brooklyn Street Local also has their Farm Stand menu which changes weekly. Items include family brunch box, scones, quiches, coffee, and more. Place orders by noon on Thursday for Friday pickup at Fish Eye Farms (2334 Buchanan St Detroit MI) between 12-3PM.
Folk, Mink, and the Farmer’s Hand
Between these three businesses, Folk, Mink, and the Farmer’s Hand, all your grocery and meal needs are taken care of. Place your order online and pick up a variety of meal kits including farmer and pantry, take + bake items including pizza, Seafood (Mink), prepared dishes, sandwiches and salads, wine and beer, coffee, and sweet treats. And Folk now has their Brews + Bakes takeout window up and running. Walk up, place your order, and eat your weight in baked delights! Open Thurs-Sun 10AM-2PM for pickup.
Detroit Institute of Bagels
DIB recently launched their Bagel Transport System online for weekend pickup. Choose from house made salads, bagel favorites, meal kits, and bagel sandwich packs which include homemade cookies and Drought juice. Order online for same day pickup. Fri-Sun 8AM-12:30PM
