It’s not often that I feature a restaurant more than once, but this pizza from Grandma Bob’s Pizza in Detroit, MI deserves it’s another write up. It’s unique, creative and absolutely delicious! Get ready!!!

Lobster Roll Pizza:

DINE IN ONLY! Wild caught lobster, herb creme fraiche, cape cod chips, and fresh chives. Served with drawn butter and lemon. OMG! I’ve been wanting, dreaming, drooling about this pie for months and finally went out last weekend and ordered it. It was EVERYTHING I hoped for and more! Crispy Detroit style pizza topped with melty mozzarella, chunks of wild caught lobster, creamy herby creme fraiche, crunchy cape cod chips. The chives added a nice mild flavor and the butter and fresh lemon took this baby over the edge! I liked that you got a little bit of everything in each bite. I was afraid the butter would be way too rich, but you need to pour it all over this pizza and just let it drip down your hand with every bite!

This 6 slice za’ will run you $38 (market price for lobster), but it’s worth it to treat yourself and indulge a little bit. Kate and I split it and we even had a hard time finishing 3 pieces each. Grab a couple friends, split it 3 ways, and it’s only $15 bucks per person + tip.

Shout out to Grandma Bob’s for knocking this one outta the park (Tiger’s Stadium reference, anyone?). Grandma Bob’s has a ton of vegan/vegetarian options and unique, inventive pizza creations. They also have a full bar, and a solid selection of cocktails. Get out there and check em out!

More of Lyon, France! Must Eat: - French flan More of Lyon, France!

Must Eat:

- French flan at Duclef Cafe @duclef_cafe_patisserie Super creamy, yet light. The best flan ever. Really good coffee and pastries.

- Praline Brioche at @pralus_laboulangerie. Pink is the classic. Sweet and nutty. We also tried chocolate which was our favorite.

- Escargot. Most restaurants have it. Don’t be afraid, order it. Buttery, garlicky, delicious.

Must See/Do:

- Roman Theater. Ruins, very cool.

- Notre Dame Cathedral. We liked it better than the one in Paris. Beautiful inside and outside. You could see it lit up at night on the hill across the river.

- Le Bal des Ardents. Bookstore with a cool doorway arch of books. Down the street is Carmelo, a really good Italian spot. Plan these two things together.

- Traboules. Secret passageways between the streets, some the public can still access. Marked with a blue lion. Very cool! Pictured are two popular ones: Maison de Crible - Tour Rose and Traboule et Cour des Voraces.

- Place des Jacobsins. Beautiful square with a fountain in the center. Artists were sketching and painting it. It was very cool.

- There are also gardens you can check out. We skipped this due to time and it being October.

The city is full of great food, culture, and things to do. Stay in Vieux Lyon. Right along the river. You can walk anywhere within 10-30 min. Safe, beautiful, and lovely.
